Wiztut tutors announce their hourly charges themselves. We do not deduct a percentage from your payment to your chosen tutor. You make your payment directly to your tutor. Some tutors offer a FREE trial lesson in order to gain your confidence in their teaching abilities and their knowledge about the subject.

We recommend that at the beginning your payment should at most be for one lesson. Once you are happy with the way things are progressing you may decide to make payment for larger number of lessons as a batch payment especially if your chosen tutor gives discounts for such larger number of bookings.
When you are searching for a tutor, it is best if you use one or maybe two words. The more words you enter in the search field, the less chance that your search will be successful. For example let’s say you are looking for "second year A-level Mathematics tutor for differential equations", then you should only enter the word "Mathematics" or "math". As you are entering the word math, you will see that "alevel math" will be one of the suggestions from which you ca pick. Selecting your search words from the dropdown suggestions will also make sure that your research will be successful.
Normally tutors hold one hour long lessons. However the actual length of your lesson is a decision that you and your tutor will make together. There are tutors that prefer to have lessons of 50 minutes long and there are others that prefer 90 minutes long lessons. The link to a Wiztut online classroom is valid for 2 hours, however if you do not leave the classroom you can stay in the classroom for longer than 2 hours.
There is not a set number of lessons that you will have to buy or have to take with any of the tutors. Normally after your first lesson with a tutor he or she should be able to estimate how many and how often you may need lessons so that you can achieve your target grade. However as you progress with your learning, your tutor will be in a better position to make abetter estimate.

Our suggestion is that in your payment to tutors always begin with payments for one or a small number of lessons until you are totally confident about your progress and your tutor.
Wiztut online classroom is a web-based whiteboard on which you and you tutor can exchange ideas and information much better than you could do in a face to face lesson. Teaching and learning via the advanced whiteboard of Wiztut is much more productive than face to face sessions with an extra advantage that the whole lesson can be saved as notes in pdf files.
Wiztut tutors and experts are actively encouraged to keep their fees low while maintaining their highest quality of service. There is no limitations to how many students can attend one online lesson. Of course the tutor who is conducting the lesson must have enough bandwidth to accommodate the number of students he or she wants to allow in his or her class.

Though the more students are in one classroom the more server processing power and server time will be used which will mean higher server cost, but Wiztut policy is to allow reasonable size group lessons for all of our tutors.
When you are on the blog page of a tutor, you will notice that you will have two different methods for contacting a tutor. You can either /"Send Message/" or /"Request meeting/". We recommend that you should begin your enquiry by using the "Send Message" and when you are certain that you have chosen you tutor, then either ask your selected tutor to organise a lesson at a time that suits you both or go ahead and ask for a specific time slot by using the "Request Meeting". Most tutor will do their best to organise a lesson at your requested time slot or the at a nearest time to your requested time. We believe that reaching at an agreed time with your tutor via our messaging system is a more certain and respectful way of booking a lesson.
When you send message to a tutor, if he or she is online, then you message will turn into a live chat and your tutor will be notified of it immediately. He or she, if not busy, can answer your enquiry via a chat box. Nevertheless whenever the tutor is free to answer your enquiry you will be notified via an email and all of your messages with all tutors will be archived and will be accessible through your Student Panel. Simply loin to your panel and dropdown the chat archive and choose the tutor with who you wish to check messages and/or communicate via Wiztut messaging service.

We strongly suggest that you use our messaging service which is secure and safe. We strongly advice that you should not exchange direct ways of communication with tutors at the beginning. You should not give your telephone number or email address at the early part of selecting a tutor. However once you are certain that you have found your tutor, you may decide to give him or her your direct contact details.

There are non English tutors on Wiztut website, however they all teach using the English language unless the expertise is in teaching other languages. For example a Spanish tutor whom you may choose to teach you the Spanish language will of course conduct part of the lesson in Spanish. We encourage experts from all around the world to join us, but Wiztut has a very rigorous recruitment procedures through which we pick the best teachers. Our tutors will have to pass subject tests as well as tests that ensures their confidence in using the correct pedagogies for online teaching. Your enquiry from Wiztut can only be distinguished from the equerries from other students by using you email address in conjunction with your mobile number. Besides when a tutor replies to your messages, you will be notified by email. Wiztut admin may also use your email address or telephone number to help you find your ideal tutor.
When you register as a Wiztut student, we will set up a panel for you and email you the details your will need to login to it. Your Student Panel is where you can access the archive of your messages to tutors and their replies. The panel mainly is a clalendar where your past, present and future classes are displayed. When it is the time for a particular class, then by clicking on the gate on that class you can enter the class and wait for the tutor to call you. A class can be entered 10 minutes before it is due to start.

The student panel is a good central place where you can refer back on the history of the lessons you’ve had and also a record of the messages you have exchanged with your tutors and the agreement you have made with them.
The matter of your payments to your tutors is something you have to agree with your tutors yourselves. Wiztut does not interfere in your agreements and does not benefit from your payments to your tutors. Wiztut does not deduct any commission from your payments to your tutors. Your payments will be paid directly to your tutors.

We suggest that when you start taking lessons from a tutor, you should only make payments for one lessons at a time. Once you are confident about your your new tutor and about your progress, then you may decide to come to a different agreement with your tutor. If you find yourself in a dispute with a tutor, though we will not accept any responsibility to resolve the issue, however do please let us know since perhaps a note from us may help resolve the matter sooner. Beside if a tutor is found to have regular issues with his/her students, we will omit their accounts from Wiztut.
We strongly advise that you do not give your email address and/or telephone number to the tutors you contact. We recommend that you use the messaging facility which you can find on the Wiztut home page or on the blogs of tutors or in your student panel. Once you have completed your initial messaging with the tutors and have selected your tutor, then you may decide to share your direct contact details with him/her.
You can of course ask the tutors by using the messaging facility which you can find on the Wiztut home page or on the blogs of tutors or in your student panel. You can also refer to the blog of your chosen tutor(s) and and by clicking on the relevant button see the working calendar for each tutor. However please remember that not all tutors organise their calendars methodically and hence contacting a tutor to confirm his/her availability will still be a suggested method.
The tutors at Wiztut have to pass a very strict test of their ability to teach their subject at the level they wish to teach it. They will also have to pass several tests to prove that they can implement their teaching strategies using the Wiztut whiteboard and possess the relevant skills for online teaching. The tutors have regular training sessions to update their online teaching skill.

Wiztut admin will actively seek your feedback regarding your tutors. Your collected feedback will result in a score by which our tutors are ranked. The tutors ranking scores dictates the order by which they will appear in your searches.
An hour of active online classroom where tutor and student have audio and video communication uses 350 MB of data. However if the video communication is disconnected and you suffice to only audio communication then one hour of an active online lesson will consume about 150 MB of data.

In our definition an active online lesson is one in which the tutor and student are using the whiteboard tools without any break. Also in the above estimate the amount file uploads onto the whiteboard is anticipated to be about 50 MB. The data that you can upload onto the Wiztut whiteboard can be images and PDF files.

50 MB is a reasonable amount of data and we have come up with this average figure in over 5000 online lessons. Of course if the whole of an one hour lesson is taken up by solely uploading files onto the whiteboard, then you should expect that the amount of your consumed data would be the the same as the total size of the files you had uploaded.

Another issue about your internet to consider is the size of your bandwidth. A 4G internet at maximum level will provide a upload speed of about 4 Mbps (mega bits per second). When you are in a lesson and you have both audio and video communication with your tutor you will require a bandwidth of about 0.5 Mbps.
To enter a class you require your tutor to send you the URL or the link to that class and the passkey to it. This link could be sent to you as a message using the Wiztut messaging system or perhaps via an email if you have allowed your tutor to have your email address. However the easiest way to enter a class is to login to your Student Panel and then by finding your lesson on your calendar and clicking on its gate. Please ensure that when you are enter the classroom you use the Google Chrome browser. Also whenever you are asked to allow Wiztut to use the media of your computer, please ALLOW.
If the question in on a paper, you can take a picture of it and then in whichever way you know transfer the picture to your computer and then directly upload the picture directly onto the whiteboard. If the question is from a website or in some other digital file, the quickest is to use the snipping tool and capture it from your computer screen and simply paste the picture onto the whiteboard.
When you enter the whiteboard your tutor would know that you have entered. You will have to wait until your tutor calls you. When your tutor calls you the audio and video communication frame will open and will be shown on the top left of your whiteboard. To start with you should be able to hear your tutor only. To enable your tutor to hear and see you, the audio and video icons must be made green which means they are enabled. You can enable them by just clicking them. You can disable your audio and vide connection with your tutor by just clicking on the same icons.

Please remember that for your browser you must be using Google Chrome and make sure that whenever the whiteboard asks you to allow it to use the media of your computer, you must ALLOW. It is also important to make sure that in the URL of the whiteboard the HTTPS:// protocol has not been swapped with HTTP://. The S in the HTTPS establishes a secure link which is necessary for the audio and video communication.
Of course. When your tutor calls you, in the video and audio communication frame that opens on the top left of the whiteboard, you can leave the video icon disabled. While the video icon is black in colour, it means that your video is disabled and your tutor will not be able to see you. However remember that if your computer or your tablet does not have a webcam, the whiteboard communication will not start.

In a situation that your computer or tablet does not have a webcam or its webcam is broken, but the sound still works, for communication with your tutor you must use another platform such as WhatsApp or Skype. The audio and video communication tool on the Wiztut whiteboard uses much less data than other platforms such as WhatsApp and Skype.
In order to use the audio and video communication facility on the Wiztut whiteboard which uses much less data than most other applications, your computer or tablet must have a webcam and sound.

You can test your media settings here to find out the settings that suits the Wiztut whiteboard. You should do this prior to attending your online lesson.

Make sure that whatever is the selection that works in the above test page are the settings you will apply to your media of your computer or tablet.
Some tutors announce some of their lessons as public lessons on their calendar. A public lesson could be used as an open opportunity to attract new students. However some tutors offer open or public lesson near the exam times so that their students can attend and ask their questions without appointments.

When a tutor makes his/her class as a public lesson on his/her calendar, then when you refer to the blog of that tutor and look at his/her calendar, you will be able to enter his/her running public lesson as long as you know the passkey. The tutors who wish their public classes to be entered by everyone will announce the passkey as a note at the gate of their public classes.
Most computers have applications which will help you video what is on your computer screen. However before video recording a lesson make sure that yo tutor is aware of it. It is illegal to record others without their knowledge.

This provision which is for tutors only is by default disabled on the Wiztut whiteboard. If your teacher requires screen sharing , he or she can let us know and we will enable that facility on his/her whiteboard or alternatively you can use Skype for that purpose. In general for a productive teaching session, we do not recommend screen sharing. Instead it is best to share ideas via collaborating on the whiteboard.

The other reason that it is important that the lesson should be fully conducted via placing the information on the whiteboard, is that the content of whiteboard can be saved as a PDF file your later reference. Since the whole whiteboard can be saved as a PDF file, it means that during the lesson, there will be no need for note taking.
You can upload images of most formats. You can also upload PDF. There is another file format which is Wiztut own format called WMO. Any page of whiteboard which has been saved in a WMO file, can be uploaded back onto the whiteboard. This format enables you to save the whiteboard with all of the objects and canvas drawings and images exactly as they are when you are teaching. So that by uploading a WMO you can return the whiteboard to exactly the status how it was when you ended your lesson.

Every time that you send a message to a tutor or request a meeting from them, you will use a credit. We have primarily devised the Contact Credit to prevent robots and other malware to clog our messaging system. The initial credit given is sufficient for the whole length of time that most students use Wiztut services. However if for any reason your credit runs out and you will still need more credit, you can acquire them very easily.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have planned for your online lesson and that you have good internet connection for your lesson. It is also your responsibility that you plan your time well so that you attend your online lesson on time. If you are aware of any connection issues or if you anticipate that you may be late for your lesson or even miss your lesson completely, do please inform your tutor well in advance.
