Mathematics teacher with 33 years teaching/tutoring experience working in both schools and sixth form environments. I have successfully taught/tutored a wide range of courses throughout the ability range. Subjects taught include mathematics, ICT, Systems and Control and Physics. During my career have line managed a mathematics department, have been head of an ICT faculty and also of a Technology faculty. I have been an examiner for EDEXCEL covering both GCSE mathematics and GNVQ ICT and have also been a coursework moderator/verifier for ICT. Since retirement I have been working part-time as a mathematics tutor in two secondary schools predominantly working with year 10 and 11 students helping to prepare them for their external GCSE examinations. I have tutored students working to pass the on-line ALAN tests, QTS numeracy and have experience teaching maths functional skills up to Level 2. I have experience in preparing students for entrance examinations and I have also been involved with summer schools to help raise the achievements of students prior to commencing secondary education.
